Senior Patrol Leader Elections

The Senior Patrol Leader (SPL) is the senior youth leader of Troop 10 and is elected by the Scouts in the troop. SPL elections are held twice each year, in March and October.

To be eligible for election, a Scout should be at least 14 years old and First Class rank or higher. SPL candidates are nominated by their fellow Scouts, and the troop members then vote to select their Senior Patrol Leader.

The SPL works with the Assistant Senior Patrol Leaders, Patrol Leaders, and other youth leaders to plan and lead troop meetings, campouts, and other activities. The SPL is expected to be an active member of the troop and to attend meetings and campouts throughout their term.

Serving as SPL is a significant responsibility and a valuable opportunity to develop leadership, communication, organization, and teamwork skills while helping shape the troop’s program.

Troop 10 has many youth leadership positions, giving Scouts of different ages and experience levels opportunities to lead and contribute.
